How Connectastar Improves Creativity

Children playing with Connectastar

Creativity is a crucial aspect of human development, even more so for children.

A 2016 New Zealand research study found that “engaging in creative activities contributes to an ‘upward spiral’ of positive emotions, psychological well-being, and feelings of ‘flourishing’ in life”. Being creative engages parts of the brain that are not engaged during stressful scenarios.

With Connectastar, children can express themselves creatively whilst lowering their stress and anxiety. They can build virtually anything and in doing so, develop their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and feel a sense of accomplishment. This activity is suitable for children aged 3 years and above.

Here are some ways your child can utilise Connectstar:

Build a tower

This is classic yet simple. How high a tower can your child build without it toppling? Take this opportunity to teach your child about physics. Why does a wider base allow for a taller tower to be made?

Create an animal

See what your little one comes up with. With Connectastar, they can make just about any animal, from dogs to dinosaurs.

Play games

Does your child have any role-play toys such as dolls or action figures? They could interact with whatever your children have created using Connectastar. Use in conjunction with our play mats in a range of settings, including Candyland, a construction site, city, farm, under the sea, and a zoo.

Early years maths lines

Connectastar can be used for very simple addition, such as 2+1.

A fun way for children aged 3-5 to learn simple addition such as 2+1 (as shown in the picture above). Use on a flat surface such as a table or on the floor. Children can put the stars together to add, so using the example provided, they would attach the green star to the white star to make 3.
